Location. Sheraton Catania is a modern, cliff top hotel with spectacular sea views set in the town of Cannizzaro, four kilometres from the beach and six kilometres from Catania city centre. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is eight kilometres away, a 15 minute drive.
Hotel Features.Guests can enjoy a leisurely day on the private beach, sip cocktails next to the pool, and unwind in the sauna. The range of health and beauty therapies at the spa includes acupuncture, aromatherapy, mud treatments, seaweed wraps, Thai massage and thalassotherapy. There are also tennis courts, and the Sheraton Catania offers a complimentary shuttle bus to the city centre, an on site travel agent, and a business centre.
The hotel offers a range of dining options: Il Timo is a gourmet restaurant serving international and typical Sicilian dishes, accompanied by an extensive wine cellar and spectacular sea views; Il Melograno offers light snacks and aperitifs in a relaxed atmosphere; and Fucsia serves snacks, drinks and cocktails on the poolside terraces.
Guestrooms. The 170 guestrooms, over four floors, have colour coordinated decor with contemporary, clean lined furnishings. All include balconies, cable television with pay movies, multi line phones, wireless Internet access, DVD players, minibars and jetted tubs.
Expert Tip.Mount Etna, 15 kilometres from the hotel, dominates the landscape and is Europe's largest live volcano. Catania, six kilometres distance, is a city of art and culture. It is rich in history with traces of the Greeks, Romans, Normans, Arabs and the Spanish.

Getting there. A taxi to the hotel costs around 40 EUR. Trains run to Catania Central Station, four kilometres from the hotel. Alternatively, the hotel can arrange airport transfers. The best way to get around Catania's historic centre is on foot. There is also a good bus and subway network; tickets for both are valid for 90 minutes and must be purchased beforehand from tabacchi (tobacco stands) and news kiosks. Bus passes are valid on the metro and metro tickets are valid on the AMT bus network. Taxis in Catania are yellow and must be picked up at ranks.
Driving directions. From the airport follow signs to 'Centro' 'Stazion' or 'Porto'. Continue northbound for five kilometres, then turn right and follow signs to Acicastello. The hotel is signposted from Acicastello.
