The Sofitel Thalassa Mogador Essaouira is luxury, modern hotel situated on the beachfront in the picturesque fishing town of Essaouira on Morocco's Atlantic coast, just 100 metres from the World Heritage Site of the Medina. The 117 guestrooms, over two floors, feature elegant decor and furnishings with Moroccan influences. Famous for its Atlantic winds, Essaouira is popular with windsurfers and water sports fans, while local crafts, such as cabinet making and marquetry work, are available in the local markets and workshops. The Medina with its narrow streets, imposing ramparts and souks is 100 metres away, and the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah Museum is two kilometres from the hotel. Essaouira Mogador Airport is 15 kilometres distance, an approximate driving time of 15 minutes.
Renovation Notice:
The hotel's Thalasso Center is scheduled to be closed for maintenance beginning June 30, 2008. The estimated completion date is July 11, 2008. These dates are subject to change.
